And 2000 meters of altitude. As the crow flies, that's more like 20 km, right. But not if you take the Odenwald and indeed the super beautiful part. So this morning I strolled around a bit, I got out of bed really late and took my time for everything, about 12 o'clock I was in Ludwigshafen and my God this city is desolate even today. I will probably not get rid of the impression. Then over to Mannheim, better but..... well Mannheim. First in my old neighborhood to the bread boutique Tans, Toscana country bread buy. Really one of the best breads I have ever eaten. I was looking forward to it all day. Then further direction Weinheim. Omg my old route during the Corona time to work and back was on the way. I really liked it, even when I was massively mobbed (yes, the academic), I liked the way, for everything else you have a thick skin and, what can I say, I can't blame myself. I fully mastered my area of responsibility, which is something you can't say about everyone. Anyway, at some point I was in Weinheim, really a beautiful town (insider tip) and then it went up, the exotic forest through. So beautiful there, the smells, wonderful. Then further, had quite forgotten how hard there some slopes are. Short but all the more violent, especially never done with luggage, I had to get out of the saddle more often, never mind I'm fit. The 2000 meters in altitude I did today probably on 60 km, better on 30 km (just uphill), so you can think how steep it was today. At some point I was in Willhelmsfeld and wanted to go to the White Stone, unfortunately not, road closure because of a triathlon. No matter, down to Ziegelhausen went and over the Philosophenweg (the poem is worth googling), Bismarkturm and the Thing (fuck nazis, megalomania pure) to the white stone. I had almost forgotten the paths, so beautiful. Ach! Then down to Dossenheim and because I still had juice in the legs up to Schauenburg. Boah the way is rough, especially with luggage. Actually, I wanted to go to the Königsstuhl, but then it was already late, I'll do tomorrow morning first thing. At 8 o'clock I had pitched my tent directly on the neckar, eaten and watched the sunset, in this sense, nice weekend.
