How was yesterday? Except massively hot oh yes really hot. So in the morning after breakfast I went, immediately to the Castel Sant'Angelo, stormed up, there was not a time in which I barely came up there for lack of air? So not yesterday, but 12 € entrance fee just to be able to drink an espresso at the top, maybe a bit exaggerated. Anyway, the rest of the castle I already knew, so back to the hotel, on the way back again measure blood pressure, "Normalo". Or as the man behind the counter put it "Super". I was briefly considering whether I take the bike today, but decided against it and went off to the Forum Roman. In my 3 previous visits to Rome I have always managed only to the Colosseum or the Palatine, the Forum, I have always lacked the time. So there to be thwarted first at the ticket purchase. Goes only online, with time slot for the Colosseum, and since at the same time many people book the page is correspondingly fast. Until you get to pay it takes, only to find that I would need my credit cards. Since the apps to release the payments are not yet set up, I had bad luck. So via a third-party provider, install new app, Paypal. So far so good, half hour and 3 euros more (so 21 € instead of 18 €). Then finally pure, first on the Palatine and then I already realized, get you better still a headdress, in the store only a towel for 11 € then up to the Hypodrom. The Palatine is my favorite hill, there first again spent 2 hours, it was getting hotter. Then down to the Forum, down there was really public traffic, at least every shady place was occupied. Fortunately, there are several drinking fountains in the complex. It was really hot there. So through the rubble piece by standing in the shade every now and then that was really intense. There was hardly anyone who did not mind the heat. Subsequently, first eat on the Esquilin and back to the hotel. Then it was evening and the temperatures were a bit better, so bike out and down the Tiber to find shortly after the Castel Sant'Angelo that I have a flat tire. That's the problem when you share the bike paths with pedestrians or party people, discarded glass bottles, and every now and then you catch a piece of glass, and what a one. So pushed back, tires patched (had of course for a short trip no patch kit taken) and out again. Back up the Aventine to the keyhole, I wasn't happy with my pictures. The line was shorter, was able to get in line a few times. Again and again new cars drove up, again and again new people. With the cell phone one does not get that, I decided then yesterday. Then in the darkness back through Rome, great city, really. So and now I should slowly go, in this sense, have a nice day.
