It was clear that today would be brutal. So I slept very well that night, a bit too early, but okay, still groggy, missed all the fun. Since I wanted to do some kilometres in the morning, I started early and the first few kilometres were tough. Of course, a) about 6l liquid more and another 2 kg to eat b) tired legs c) hilly. But beautiful landscape! In Franconia! At some point I finally reached the Main again, near Schweinfurt, but the sun was already beating down. So after 35 km I took my first big break (getting a pretzel/coffee at the bakery doesn't count, it's to go) in the shade, changed shoes, had a banana, apple, WATER, cool down. I've seen an e-biker resting on an other banks all day long. Finding a shady spot was already difficult, one without a group of pensioners ups, almost impossible. Okay, then further south, the temperature rose, fortunately mostly flat, the few climbs there were, gear out, slowly up, water at the top and shade if possible. I drank all the fluids I brought with me during the day and more, on the way I had a coffee and water at a snug building scale, that was nice. Great atmosphere, nice conversations. At kilometre 80 in Bamberg we had a lunch break under a bridge, it was really rough and it was only 1pm. In the afternoon, well, as expected. Luckily I followed the Main-Danube Canal and praise to Bavaria, I was on very good cycle paths the whole time. Well signposted, even the road works! But there were a lot of Sunday cyclists, no hand signals when turning or looking over their shoulders, riding in the middle of the lane.... Oh kids, take your car again! So I'm pretty exhausted, dived and the tent is up, I ate, wow I went to bed before 10pm, but proud, the second day was usually always a slow day. I'm curious how it will be tomorrow, but maybe I'll be fit again? In this sense, good night!
