And there we have the 7th dwarf state, completely unspectacular. Most of the day I was still in Italy on the road, again and again it went up, then down and then there was a 15 kilometer bike path on the beach, which was dreamlike. Why this not equip the whole coast with it? A little dream. Then I was still in Latte the last cappuccino drink and am to France. Bon Jour was said at the border, ciao bella Italia and I immediately realized that I am again in another country. Overtaking with distance, no more standing with the whole hood on exits into the street (as a cyclist this is really exhausting, you have to swerve every time into the middle of the lane when they are back in the street), blinking when turning etc. Nice. The rude awakening occurred immediately as I was in Monaco, in dwarf states they just drive differently (Malta, Andorra) as I was approached by a motorcyclist overtaking a bus on my side. That was a close call. Really. I became more cautious again until I got to the casino. There I was whistled off my bike by a policeman. He spoke to me in French, I replied in Italian. What? What? English, we then agreed on that. I got off and pushed. I wanted to go in front of the casino, but I didn't see it yet, that I was almost in front of it, so I pushed my bike through the area and got on again on the other side. A small event I was already, dirty as I ran around, I was real eye-catcher. Then down and left and again I was stopped by a policeman, no cyclists, He white on a traffic sign, bicycle, motorcycle, truck prohibited. Car okay. So pushing well up to the casino entrance. Take pictures, push back, I was back at the policeman, a concrete mixer drove through, I look at the policeman, he at me, his hand made a questioning sign, he was also not sure. The traffic wouldn't let me into my lane, so the friendly man stepped into the street, stopped the traffic for me and I could drive. Thank you. Nevertheless, I was glad to be out of the dwarf state, I suddenly had a little heat buildup again and had to take a break. Rest planning, found a small hotel near the train station in Nice, cooled down, it also pulled to, well the sun was gone and I continued. Again a really hard climb up, a last time out of the saddle, again really power 100%, e voila on the coast down roll and check into the hotel. Tomorrow bike disassemble (after a tour to Antibes), the pedals I have now got solved (WB40), that was my biggest worry, buy train ticket (TGV store opens soon), pack luggage and Lord of the Rings look, in this sense, a wonderful day.
