So in the morning I first barely got going, these big cities slow you down quite a bit in addition there was a lot of bike path. In Italy that means gravel, bushes, up, down, curb, exit and barriers that are barely passable (with luggage), so nothing where you could make speed. At some point I was then still on a busy road , was indeed faster but I was then also happy as it left off a quieter road long. Oh say gravel road, through the forest. At some point I had to let then also times quite urgently water. Found a place in the forest where I could lean my bike and put me to the bush. Suddenly came a group of children with caregiver around the corner, I was certainly not the only one here in the forest who has made himself today in the pants, so quickly I packed again. Phew, that was also an experience. Well, it was warm and I washed out with water. Further. Went partly then quite jaggedly up, partly 14%, only to go down again afterwards. The Apennines (the northern or Ligurian part) had started. Fortunately, it went from gravel back to asphalt, little traveled, but the sun banged down and I always higher. Honestly these low mountains are definitely harder than the Alps in terms of gradient, also from 30 to 1030 meters in altitude is also 1000 total, right? Only when you tell people that you are over the Alps and then over the heavy Apennines, comes mostly as a response. "Wow over the Alps, I've been planning that for years too". So, you birdbrain, you have heard the Alps. And who knows me, knows that I metaphorically slapped my hand on my forehead a second time "I've been planning for years". This is what you hear or read in groups very often "plan". My God, MAKING, DOING is the secret, failing is also valid. Christopher Columbus did not plan much and sailed off. He didn't get out where he thought or wanted, but everyone still knows him today, right? Planning? Oh, important guy, if you'd ever sailed those, you'd know there are tougher things. So, enough digressing. So at some point we really went into the Apennines. It was really a nice climb, but in the heat it was torture. Fortunately, the mountain god had a vision and has sent me now and then clouds or channeled me through forest. So from 800 meters altitude in the forest, while left and right water flows was quite pleasant. Unfortunately, I was at some point above and made me on the pothole littered way down, the oncoming traffic has me really annoyed, barely half-high in the sun it was hot again. Then shortly before Florence I had another flat tire, great, I just dragged me to the hotel and was still transferred. Stupid, but there are more important things than me, I'm not angry. In this sense, good night.
