So I went one better today. I might have dreamt that I could do this in 3 days from the mouth of the Moselle to the source. 544 km. The other way round I can do it in 2? Fun, I had planned a few more days, now I don't know what to do tomorrow, does anyone have any suggestions? A young Frenchman joined me for the last few kilometres today, said the Grand Ballon, the highest mountain in the Vosges, I'd have to go back for it, about 10 km. We'll see, or Freiburg after all. So first from the beginning. 100 km along the Moselle to Epinal were tres bon! Really great cycle paths up to there, well signposted, beautiful landscape, highly recommended. Then I lost my way, or rather the good cycle path ended. From there I could have continued along a waterway towards Lyon, but to get to the source of the Moselle I had to change to the road. 30 km of side road, then a very good cycle path began again, almost to the source. The last few metres went steeply uphill. Another 170 km was no walk in the park, but not pure torture either. I bought extra provisions before the climb so that it wouldn't be too easy. I only say "Je dois fair pipi" to the source of the Moselle. As soon as I reached the top, I had to go down again, but no campsites were open, so I had to keep heading towards the valley. There would have been one right on the ascent to the Grand Ballon, what a pity. I'm done for today, I could write a lot more! I could write a lot more about the nice French, but my eyes are closing, in this sense. Good night
